Need a good cosmetic dentist fast for crowns on my front teeth

Posted on June 20, 2016 by AllSmiles.

I am trying to narrow down cosmetic dentists in my area who do a great job with dental crowns on front teeth. The issue is it needs to be done pretty much within 4 days. I will be on assignment overseas starting July 18. The only time I have for any dental work is 4 days. So I’ve found several cosmetic dentists online who look like they have good credentials. I know some specialists can do amazing job but they have to take their time and go slow. I only have 4 days, so how do I find out if the dentist can do the crowns quickly? Thanks Milton

Milton – Beautiful dental crowns require more than four days. A skilled cosmetic dentist works with a master ceramist to produce lifelike crowns in a lab. It is a challenge to provide natural-looking crowns for front teeth, and the process should not be rushed.

Your porcelain crowns should match the color and characteristics of your natural teeth. It takes time to manipulate the porcelain and create a perfect match. It may take a week or two to receive your custom crowns from the dental lab.

If you have an immediate need for restoring your teeth, speak with two or three cosmetic dentists to get a recommendation for a temporary restoration. A high-quality temporary crown can last many months. The condition of your teeth will determine what dental work should be done and when.

We recommend that you not rush the process. You may be able to find a cosmetic dentist to quickly provide you with dental crowns for your front teeth, but you when you see the results, you may regret it.

Have a consultation with two or three dentists, and discuss your options first. Ask to see before-and-after photos of each dentist’s work.

What would a cosmetic dentist do for buck teeth?

Posted on November 15, 2015 by AllSmiles.

I have buck teeth that I have always hated. Now I can do something about it but I want it done quickly. I don’t want a slow track with braces. In Feb. I will be 32 yrs old and being in braces for years is not something that interests me at all. I can deal with a month of cosmetic dentistry to make it all go away and look like I have a new smile. It’s worth whatever it costs to me to find the best cosmetic dentist around to get the work done right. What I am not sure of is what treatment will be recommended. What do cosmetic dentists do for buck teeth and on average how long does it take? Thanks! London M.

London – When a patient has overbite or overjet, a cosmetic dentist will recommend orthodontic treatment. If you are totally against metal braces, low-profile clear braces or Invisalign will be recommended.

Cosmetic dentistry in the form of porcelain crowns or porcelain veneers will make the color or shape of your teeth look better, but they won’t correct protruding teeth. You will need orthodontic treatment. The good news is that today’s orthodontics has ways of reducing treatment time. Products like Invisalign move teeth more efficiently, and the process can be accelerated with special appliances.

If your cosmetic dentist doesn’t provide Invisalign, he or she can refer you to an orthodontist. After your teeth are aligned, your cosmetic dentist can whiten them and further enhance their appearance with dental bonding, porcelain veneers, or porcelain crowns.

So an experienced cosmetic dentist is a good place to start. Discuss your goals for your smile, and he or she will develop a treatment plan for you to reach them.

How do I find a cosmetic dentist for 3N no-prep veneers?

Posted on September 17, 2015 by AllSmiles.

I have been doing a lot of research on no prep veneers other than Lumineers. I wanted to have information on more than just one brand. I found out from an acquaintance on social media about 3N which I had never heard of. Now I know why because it doesn’t look like they are U.S. based. I found the 3N veneers website but I don’t see anything about how to find a 3N U.S. cosmetic dentist. I really like the way they look, much more so than Lumineers. How do I find a cosmetic dentist who uses 3N? Thanks. – Shona

Shona – Although 3N veneers are not familiar to us, through an Internet search, we found that 3N Veneers Limited is based in the United Kingdom. Other websites that reference the brand indicate that this brand of veneers is used in the Middle East.

Although we don’t have information on U.S. cosmetic dentists who use 3N, we can assure you that the results you get from porcelain veneers depend significantly on your choice of cosmetic dentist and his or her choice of laboratory to makes the veneers.

The laboratory that makes Lumineers is often criticized for the pasty, bulky look of the veneers. But the same results can occur with any other brand—unless you have a skilled, artistic cosmetic dentist who also uses an artistic master ceramist.

Dental patients get great results from porcelain veneers, not by choosing their own brand of porcelain veneers, but instead, by choosing an artistic dentist who knows what brands are best for your case. And who understands how to the manipulate color, translucency, and shape of the veneers to produce lifelike results.

Find a cosmetic dentist who is an artist. How? Start by locating an accredited cosmetic dentist. If there isn’t one in your area, find one who is a member of a cosmetic or aesthetic dentistry organization, and who is participates in on-going training. Check the dentist’s credentials. Schedule a consultation and ask to see before-and-after pictures of smile makeovers the dentist has completed. Let the dentist know your concerns about porcelain veneers and the smile you want to achieve. Watch and listen closely to how the dentist addresses your questions. Then you can decide if this is the dentist for you, or if you want to have a consultation with a second or third cosmetic dentist before making a decision on your provider.

It’s the artist in the dentist—not solely the brand he or she uses—that will produce beautiful results you want.

Need a dentist to restore 2 teeth

Posted on October 30, 2014 by AllSmiles.

I have 2 teeth that were cracked in an accident. At first it was a hairline fracture that my dentist told me not to worry about. Last night while I was flossing my teeth, I noticed that one of the teeth is a little loose. Unfortunately I am looking for another dentist to do the work because mine told me not to worry about it. I don’t want to lose my teeth. What are my options for restoring the teeth? Jamie

Jamie – We advise you to find a skilled cosmetic dentist. Your teeth can simply be made functional again, and just about any dentist can do that. If you want beautiful results, you can get them from an experienced cosmetic dentist.

An experienced cosmetic dentist has an artistic eye. He or she is concerned about protecting your teeth, and about making the restoration match the color and characteristics of your natural teeth.

If your teeth were damaged by trauma, you will need to have them examined to determine which treatment is best for you. A damaged tooth is generally protected with a dental crown or “cap,” as it is often called.

Start by looking for a dentist who is accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Accreditation requires in-depth testing and presentation of cases by the dentists who apply for accreditation. This credential will highly increase your chances of receiving beautiful results for your smile. Fees from a cosmetic dentist may cost a little more, but the results will be beautiful and long-lasting. You won’t walk away frustrated with the look of your teeth.

If you can’t find an accredited dentist, look for one who is a member of the AACD. Ask the dentist how often he or she participates in ongoing cosmetic dentistry training. It will give you an indication of how interested the dentist is in achieving natural-looking results.

Question on porcelain veneers for tetracycline stained teeth

Posted on August 20, 2014 by AllSmiles.

I have seen pictures from several dentists of porcelain veneers over tetracycline teeth. In every case, the teeth look way too white and thick. I don’t know what kind of veneers were used. Is there a particular brand I should use so that if I get veneers to cover my tetracycline stains they won’t look fake? Joan K.

Joan – Regardless of the reason that a person wants or needs porcelain veneers, the skill of an artistic cosmetic dentist is required to produce natural looking results.

In attempt to cover tetracycline stains, veneers can end up looking pasty or thick. Only a skilled cosmetic and his or her master ceramist can build in the translucency require to give the veneers a natural appearance, and at the same time cover tetracycline stains. The results depend more upon the skill of the dentist and ceramist than the brand of veneers that are used.

We recommend that you visit an experienced cosmetic dentist to receive an examination. You can discuss your concerns and have your questions answered about concealing your tetracycline stains with porcelain veneers.
