That\u2019s because they mimic natural teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The components of a dental implant\ninclude:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Artificial root<\/strong> \u2013 A root form, usually made of\n     titanium, is surgically implanted in your jawbone. What are the implant dentist\u2019s qualifications?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although many dentists offer dental implants, not all of them meet the following qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Post-graduate      training in implantology<\/li><li>Regularly      place dental implants<\/li><li>Use      advanced technology, including 3-D images to ensure optimal implant      placement<\/li><li>Provide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drszarek.com\/porcelain-crowns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"natural-looking dental crowns (opens in a new tab)\">natural-looking dental crowns<\/a> or      implant overdentures<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. What are my other options?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dental implants are the best form of\ntooth replacement, but they are also the most costly. If they are not within\nyour budget, you should be aware of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Other options,\ne.g., dental bridge, partial denture, implant overdentures<\/li><li>Cost of the\noptions<\/li><li>Longevity of\nyour options<\/li><li>Results you can\nexpect<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. What\u2019s involved with getting dental implants?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dental implants have a 98% success rate, but they require\ndiligent oral hygiene. Ask yourself if you\u2019re willing to do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Brush your teeth twice\n     daily and daily floss between them<\/li><li>Keep appointments for\n     regular dental cleanings and checkups<\/li><li>Quit smoking or tobacco\n     use\u2014or avoid those habits before and after dental implant surgery to allow\n     proper healing <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. What Are My Long-Term Goals for My Smile?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have multiple smile goals,\ndental implants can be added to the treatment plan. But timing is everything.\nYour dentist will let you know at what stage dental implants will be scheduled\nin your overall treatment. For example, if you want your teeth whitened or\naligned, let you dentist know before you receive dental implants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Am I Willing to Wait?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Surgery and healing<\/strong> &#8211; Receiving dental implants is a\n     process. After the implants are placed, it takes three to four months for\n     the implants and your jawbone to fuse and provide a solid anchor for\n     dental crowns or dentures. Meanwhile, you will wear temporary crowns or\n     dentures. <\/li><li><strong>Bone grafting<\/strong> &#8211; If some of your teeth have been\n     missing for an extended period, your jawbone might be shrinking. Adequate\n     bone is needed to support dental implants. If you don\u2019t have enough bone,\n     grafting might be required. The grafts need to heal before dental implants\n     are placed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A successful outcome requires\npatience. Don\u2019t expect a quick fix with dental implants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Am I Willing to Consult with More than One Dentist?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Much of the success of dental\nimplants depends on the training, skill, and experience of the dentist. We\nrecommend that you schedule consultations with more than one dentist.
